As you may be aware, many St. Augustine venues struggle with adequate parking. The Pioneer Barn provides ample, free onsite parking with easy accessibility from I-95 and US 1.
Yes, we are happy to help you customize your experience here at The Pioneer Barn. You can add more time for your event or more time to decorate. You can also rent additional areas within the museum for a chapel ceremony or have a cocktail hour on our 16th century sailing ship display. We offer flexibility for vendors and are happy to provide references or work with the vendors of your choice.
We are fortunate enough to have two newly remodeled hotels right across the street that are highly rated.
Yes! We have several other areas in our museum that can be used for your event, including our life size Spanish sailing vessel, and our fort area.
Your rental is a set block of time that includes clean up and break down, unless you are paying for in house clean up. Additional time can be added in advance at $300 per hour. Rentals must end at 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at 10:00 on all other days.
Your rental includes 4 hours of decorating/set up time, immediately prior to your event. Candles and open flames are not allowed in the barn. LED candles are acceptable. If you want to hang decorations on the walls, you are welcome to use pre-existing nails in the barn. No other wall hung items are allowed. Artificial flower petals are not allowed anywhere in the barn or museum.
The restrooms are located in our one-room schoolhouse, directly across from the barn. The barn and bathrooms are handicap accessible.
No. We have a preferred vendor list that is at your disposal if you need recommendations. However, you may bring in your own licensed, insured vendors. We just ask that you keep us updated as to which vendors you are utilizing.
Alcohol can be served if appropriate day of event alcohol liability insurance has been purchased and a certificate provided. We look for $1M in coverage. Alternatively, you may hire a licensed, insured mobile bartending service for your event.
You may use the caterer of your choice. We do not have kitchen facilities or catering services. We do provide electrical outlets and a double bowl sink which caterers have found helpful for prep and cleanup.
Our vintage schoolhouse can be rented for these purposes. It also has convenient restroom accessibility.
Yes, we offer the rustic charm of Old Florida, with all the great modern conveniences we appreciate.
Our barn holds 130 people with traditional table seating. We also have a porch, courtyard area and picnic area which can be used for additional seating.
To reserve the barn for your date, we require that you fill out our contract and submit a deposit of $500 (plus tax). Your deposit goes towards your rental fee and your date is locked in. You have 3 days to cancel without penalty.
